Web Site Story
That has to be the most unoriginal headline ever devised - but I don't have the energy required to be original right now.
I've been able to put off adding actual content to this site for some time by instead considering the best way to manage it (when it arrives). Right now the site overall doesn't have any sort of content management system with the only exception being this weblog - which is all self designed and could probably be improved upon. Although it's not so much of a problem right now it's also not a good idea in the long terms so I've been considering switching to one of the many 'off the shelf' systems on offer from my hosting company.
The main problem I see having looked around is that many of the content management systems seem to be geared towards the typical blog or article style of content - which, I suppose, you have to expect. My main issue with that is that much of the content here falls outside that area and I'm not convinced that using a CMS wouldn't limit what I could do with the pages I create that are 'experimental' in nature. As an example the tag swarm page - would a CMS be able to handle the fact that its AJAX based, highly CSS styled and very dynamic?
Right now I'm erring on the side of caution and sticking to the current system - maybe it's not the best way but I'm familiar with it and don't expect the site will increase in size hugely.
On the subject of content there has been one new addition. I've added a small gallery which I've yet to incorporate into the site properly (in terms of style) but which functions perfectly.
